At PJM Wellbeing we believe that mental health should be given the same priority as physical health. We therefore offer certificated courses in First Aid for Mental Health, which equip participants to deal with mental health emergencies when they occur.

The current pandemic has put a widely published strain on children and young people’s mental health. With statutory services working at the edge of capacity, why not see what you can do in school to support your students?

These courses are suitable for both staff and students over the age of 14 and can be delivered either at your school or a venue arranged by us,  at a time to suit you.

4 hours

This awareness course provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition, the skills to start a conversation and ability to signpost a person towards professional health.

This course is suitable for both staff and students aged 14+ and could be delivered as part of an enrichment programme.

6 hours/1 day

This course provides learners with a comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected. This course qualifies the learner as First Aider for Mental Health and can be a point of contact in the school.

This course would be suitable for line managers, form tutors, learning mentors, pastoral support workers and student peer mentors aged 14+.

12 hours/2 days

This course covers a wider range of mental health conditions and goes into detail on the range of therapy and professional support that may help the person recover. Suitable for those supervising or managing First Aid for Mental Health within a workplace, school or organisation.

The course would be suitable for line managers, heads of year or senior leaders in the school.

A wide variety of general and specialist courses available to school staff, both in your school or at our training room in Moreton-in-Marsh.

We offer both First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid courses, delivered by a qualified teacher and first aid instructor. We aim for the courses to be fun as well as informative and that you leave us with the skills and confidence to deal with any first aid emergencies the students (and staff!) can present you with.

We aim for your course to be of maximum use and relevance to you. Questions are actively encouraged and although there are required course components, they can be tailored around your specific needs and time spent on those areas you feel are most important to your setting.
